Board Meeting Minutes – July 31, 2008

Meeting called to order 6:26
New Board Business
- Susan Serota is resigning effective immediately. She is leaving August 12. Board accepted her resignation. VP position is open. Board will appoint the new member. Lori Kenner volunteered to do membership on interim basis if needed. Loose ends to tie up with Betty and Susan; contract for party, credit card, membership roster, checks, deposit stamp, camera and printer, excel documents. Betty will contact Susan for a meeting with Betty, Susan, Nancy and Lori.
Reports
- Secretary – Minutes from May 21 Annual Spring meeting and Board meeting approved
- Treasury – report waiting until receipts in from State Games
- Membership – 112
- Test – tentative 9/17 or 9/24 test date
- Social-banquet set for Sep 5. Based on numbers we are moving to larger room. Menu is tentative and we are waiting for final numbers. At the banquet we will give a gift of soakers to each of the club members. Also Kelley Matthews is donating a gift of a hair bun for each member. We will put in an alternative gift for the boys. Nick will have a table set up for club apparel and gifts. The board approved the US Figures Skating jacket as our club jacket. Nick is developing a page to link to our website. No guests for banquet. Members plus family members only. Club is paying for full members only. RSVP to Lori via email or call Marie Iribarren. Deadline 8/27
- Competition – October tbd but will be Basic Skills -March dates tbd but suggested 3/20-3/22 Fundraising- raise money for Joe Dimaggio with Panthers Foundation committees—forming new committees to get members involved. Ideas include academics with an education chair, social committee, test committee, Holiday Show committee
- Kimmie Meissner is still registered at Delaware and we voted to make her an honorary member and present it to her at the Annual Banquet providing she attends.
