Board Meeting Minutes – October 17, 2007

Meeting called to order 5:55pm
New Board Business
- Melissa gave treasury report. $400.88 earned at Incredible Challenge.
- Ad placed in Eastern Sectional program by Nancy.
- Minutes from board meeting 9/26 approved with one minor deletion.
- Membership – 130 members
- Holiday Show:
- Todd Eldredge will m.c. and perform. We will purchase a gift for him. Nancy will reserve a hotel room for him.
- Tickets for holiday show will be distributed in packets of 25 to club members for sale. We will have a log and Susan, Melissa, Marie and Lori will distribute.
- Pinecrest Jazz Band will perform Music for show should be on one CD for ease
- There will be a dress rehearsal with the date and time to be determined.
- Suggestion was made to sell tickets at Bank Atlantic Branches as well as Bank Atlantic Center
- Club secretary will send an email blast to club members regarding show and tickets.
- 39 show participants are still not club members. Susan did get 8 new memberships applications.
- Advertisements will be sold for $10 for a star; $25 business card; $50 ½ page; $100 full page
- Statues like mini “Oscars” will be ordered with a gift and plaque for a cost of $6.10
- We will order “Oscars” will be ordered for the coaches as well.
- We will have 2 men in tuxedos and hats. Suggestion was made to contact a tuxedo rental store for a donation in exchange for advertising.
- Halloween Party:
- Susan purchased food. Marie will prepare salads and pasta.
- Decorations will be purchased by Marie and Susan. We will have a free skate with a DJ and a few games. Kids can come in costumes and we may give a few prizes from the club table.
- Presented Kelley’s idea for club packet to be given to new individual private lesson students by coaches. We were informed coaches are already supposed to give out a packet.
- Test session 11/7- judge for junior moves will be there. There will be a board meeting following. There will be another board meeting on 11/28 at 5:45 p.m.
